Lesson 5
How did Jesus heal the demoniac that was dwelling among the tombs? He used the power that’s living in you right now! The power that you have access to 24/7 that never runs out. It’s called dunamis. Paul talks about this power that caused you to be resurrected unto eternal life. He said, “I’m not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power (dunamis) of God unto salvation” Romans 1:16 (KJV). Dunamis is resurrection power, because it resurrected your dead spirit man unto eternal life. Paul said in Philippians 3:10 (KJV) that this resurrection power is called dunamis. “I want to know him and the power (dunamis) of His resurrection.” If you’re born again in Christ, that resurrection power lives in you right now!
Dunamis does all kinds of crazy cool stuff! It means, “power and influence that comes with riches and wealth, the power to perform miracles, and excellence of soul”. The next time you are in debt and you can’t break through, release your dunamis on it. Put your hand on that letter and say, “I have dunamis power and influence that belongs to riches and wealth. I command you to manifest!” Use your dunamis. It also means the power to perform miracles. Do you have a problem in your body, need a miracle in your marriage, or healing for your children? Release the dunamis power that’s inside of you, because it gives you the ability perform miracles!
It also means excellence of soul! If you have a soul problem, you’ve got the answer right inside of you right now. If you are playing back a painful memory in your mind over and over again, you’re dwelling among the tombs! So, instead of letting Legion control your thoughts, release the dunamis inside of you into that memory to heal it and to make you excellent of soul.
I’ve been asked, “Well, if I’ve got dunamis and it does this excellence of soul stuff, and it performs miracles, and makes me rich, how come I’m broke like a joke, sick in my body, and acting like a fool?” You’re not utilizing what you have! Ephesians 3:20 tells us that God does super abundantly above and beyond all that you can ask or imagine according to the power (dunamis) that’s at work in you. Put dunamis to work!
Acts 10:38 (KJV) says, “…God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power (dunamis): who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil…” You have dunamis just like Jesus had it. That’s how Jesus was doing all the miracles. That’s how He healed and delivered the demoniac. He released in on him! Dunamis means excellent of soul and it heals every tomb inside the demoniac and because Christ had nothing in him that was in common with Legion, that thing had to leave!
Let’s practice. Put your hand on your belly. You’re going to decree what you have. This is a gift of God’s grace. You don’t have to beg God for it, fast for it, or pray for it. You already have it! People ask me to pray for them to have more dunamis, I say, “Why would I do that? You already have it. Now just work it, baby. Work it.” I walk around all the time saying, “I’m excellent of soul. I’m excellent of soul. I have a tank full of dunamis. It’s performing miracles in my body. It’s healing all my tombs, all my wounds, everything.” Ready? You’re going to do the same thing now.
Say, “Lord. I acknowledge the truth that when I was born again, I received Holy Spirit and He brought dunamis with him. I have a tankful that never runs out. It means “the power to perform miracles”. It means “power and influence that comes with riches and wealth”. It means “excellence of soul”. I’m rich, whole, and excellent of soul. I don’t have any tombs because dunamis is flowing into my memories and into every place where trauma caused me pain. God is doing super abundantly above and beyond all that I could ever ask or imagine.” Now, put your faith on it!
The apostle Paul wrote in Ephesians 3:16 (AMPC), “May He grant you out of the rich treasury of His glory to be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in the inner man by the [Holy] Spirit [Himself indwelling your innermost being and personality].” He’s praying that we would be energized with power in our inner self, which is our soul. If Paul was praying for your soul to be healed by dunamis, don’t you think we should? Memorize this prayer and say it over yourself! “May He grant me out of the riches of His glory to be strengthened and spiritually energized with power, through His spirit, in my inner self, in dwelling my inmost being and personality.” Remember, when you decree a thing, it shall be established.

As I was reading your devotion this morning, I began to question one thing. Can you tell me where in scripture a demon can be in more than one place at a time. I thought only God is omnipresent. How can legion effect so many people at one time? I am not questioning your ministry. I read your devotions everyday. I believe in dunamas! Please just help me understand this. Hi Carissa. Thanks for the question I am always encouraged when people like you “test the spirits to see whether they are from God” (1 John 4:1) Carissa, notice how in Mark 5:9 when referring to Legion, the singular is first used, “Then Jesus asked him, “What is your name?” “My name is Legion” then to be followed up in the plural with,“for we are many.” (Mark 5:9) Legion has 6000 demons in it with many Legions across the world.
