Your Legal Right

Lesson 9

Sometimes all of us have feelings of anxiety, heaviness, depression or feeling like our souls can’t be comforted.

Almost everyone has those days. No matter what you do, you just can’t shake it. It’s like a cloud hovering right over your head, following you everywhere. When this happens, consider it a sign. You have a wound inside your soul.

I love Psalm 131. In verse two, it says, “Surely, I’ve calmed and quieted my soul; like a weaned child within its mother, like a weaned child is my soul within me.”

Consider the infant who has not been weaned. It frets, fusses, bawls and screams. Tiny babies do not like being uncomfortable. How about you? Do you have days when you fret, fuss, bawl or feel like screaming? Those are signs your soul is wounded. You have wounds inside your soul producing that discomfort.

And this scripture in Psalms says, when our soul is healthy, it will be calm and quieted “like a weaned child within us is our soul”. You see your emotions balancing out when your soul is healed. You see a shift inside your soul when your soul is healed. You won’t feel depression as you did. The heaviness will go. You won’t need to scream any more.

As we work through this, I will show you the myriad of bad things these wounds can induce, including physical sicknesses, bad marriages and a wide variety and assortment of things you do not want in your life.

By now, you want to know how to get your soul healed. So, I’m giving you the keys; two simple keys to getting your soul healed. You will use these keys again and again. If you will apply these two simple things about Jesus to this long list of issues you may be experiencing, you will begin to see miracles in your life.

Your weapons are found in 2 Corinthians 12. It explains we have “weapons of our warfare which are mighty, for the throwing down of strongholds.” What are those weapons that make us mighty? (Remember, we learned earlier that “mighty” means, “strong in soul”)

There are two things. They are: the blood that comes from Jesus’ sacrifice at the cross and a power called dunamis that comes from His victory at the Resurrection.

The Bible says Jesus shed his blood at the cross for every sin capable of wounding your soul. We know Jesus died for sin and for sickness. The Bible says He was wounded for our transgressions and He has borne our sicknesses and by His stripes, we are healed. Isaiah 53 says Jesus died for our sin and sicknesses in our physical bodies.

Jesus also died for the sicknesses in our souls. In Mark 8:17 we find the prophetic word from Isaiah 53 comes to pass. It says, “That it might be fulfilled that which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying, ‘Jesus, He, Himself, took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses.'” This Scripture is the fulfillment of the promise that was spoken in Isaiah 53 and says that Jesus took our infirmities. The word, “infirmity” in the Greek means, “weakness and infirmity of the body and of the soul”.

So, there is your legal right. Jesus died for your soul to be healed. Not just for the sin or the physical sickness but for the sickness and infirmity in your soul.

You have a legal right to believe and put your faith to your soul being healed because Jesus died for it. He took our infirmities, meaning weakness and infirmity of the body and of the soul.

See, when Jesus shed his blood on the cross, it washed away every sin that would ever wound your soul.

I hope you find this as exciting as I do. Next week, we will continue learning about this magnificent plan God put in place so that all Believers can prosper in soul. Big love, KS
