You Can’t Diagnose a Demon

Lesson 6

When I read the story of Hezekiah receiving 15 more years of life, and then becoming wealthy, I thought, “What did he do to make that happen?”
If you read Chronicles 31, you will see what Hezekiah did; he cleansed the temple, then the people cleansed the land of all the idols!

Understand that when you begin getting these idols out of your life, like Hezekiah, you will have victory over the enemy while you sleep! You won’t even have to lift your shield or your sword. All you did was cleanse your soul – your temple, of all the idols.

This will give you a longer life! Just when you think a disease is going to kill you, you will be miraculously healed of that disease, and get 15 more years of abundant health. All because you got rid of the idols in your soul. You will be like Hezekiah, because God will give you great wealth.

About eight years ago, I developed a rash on my shins that was very thick and bumpy. It was a red rash that itched like the dickens. I would wake up in the middle of the night scratching my legs. Then, it would spread, and get 20 times worse, as it got thicker and larger. The rash would last for 3 or 4 months, and then just disappear. Then, it would come back, and start all over again!

One day, I went to see my mom in Sun City, Arizona, made the mistake of showing Mom my leg, and she said, “You are going to the doctor right now!” I argued that I didn’t even have a doctor, but mom insisted. (If we don’t want to have to do what she says, some things we might not want to tell mom!)

At the doctor’s office, I reached down and pulled up my pant leg. The doctor got a funny look on her face, backed from the room, and shut the door. I thought, “If the old people’s doctor thinks this is weird, I’m in trouble.”

About 15 minutes later, the doctor came back fully gowned, with hat, mask, and gloves. She swabbed my leg with an extra-long cotton swab, placed it in a tube, and left again. But, when the test results came back, it showed that they couldn’t diagnose it. They didn’t know what it was. I always say, “You can’t diagnose a demon.”

I prayed and asked God to show me what this rash was, and He gave me Deuteronomy 28:27 (KJV), “The Lord will smite thee with the botch of Egypt, and with the emerods, and with the scab, and with the itch, whereof thou canst not be healed.”

Just great! I had the botch! I found out that the “botch” was the curse that would come upon people who worshipped idols.

I immediately began praying for dunamis to fill my soul, because that’s where idolatry lives; I decreed I was excellent of soul. Then, I called the cavalry – my generals. “We’re coming, to help you, Katie“, they said. Georgia (the oldest of them) told me, “The Lord has instructed me to cut a hole in your belly and pull something out.” She prophetically cut a hole in my stomach, reached in, and pulled out a statue of Wonder Woman!

Now, I used to be Wonder Woman of the dark side! I must have idolized the power I had on the street. Even men were scared of this Wonder Woman. I fought with biker clubs that actually tried to kill me. I still have a bone sticking out of my shoulder blade from an accident I had from them taking the master link off my motorcycle chain. I T-boned a curb, flipped over three times, and broke my collarbone. I was fighting the big dogs because I thought I was Wonder Woman. Then, Georgia reached into my stomach again, and pulled out the most beautiful looking gun she’d ever seen. Well, I had grown up shooting and hunting, and used to be obsessed with weapons. Lastly, she pulled out a stack of money. Money is one of the biggest idols we all have. Earlier that day during my prayer time, I had seen a big pyramid without the top on it, which is on every dollar bill. I had big money, weapons, and power idols in my soul.

After the session with my generals, that rash – the “botch”, went away and never came back!

It is not a coincidence that up until that point, I had been working for the ministry for free; I volunteered. I had not been paid a dime. In fact, we were pretty broke at that moment. However, that next year, after getting rid of those idols, between paychecks, itinerant events, and resource orders, I earned my first big payday. Wow!

When you get rid of idols, you’re going to be healed of sicknesses, have financial breakthroughs, and find favor. You’re going to operate in power. You will be like Hezekiah. He became a very wealthy man, had extended life, and all his enemies were defeated for him!
