Transformed in His Light

“Once more Jesus addressed the crowd. He said, I am the Light of the world.
He who follows Me will not be walking in the dark, but will have the Light which is Life.”
John 8:12 (AMPC)

Dear Friend,

Believe it or not, the above verse is all about soul healing! Here, Jesus declares He is the Light of the world and His Light brings life to anyone who is living in darkness. What kind of darkness was He referring to? The word dark here means the soul that has lost its perceptive powers! When our souls get wounded through sin or trauma, they can become dark, and we literally lose our ability to perceive things properly. Yet, Jesus says He is the Light, and when we follow Him, we will not walk in the darkness of our wounded souls, but will have His Light, which brings us life! The Light isn’t a thing. It’s a person—the person of Jesus Christ!

I’ve spoken about dunamis power many times. It is the resurrection power that came to live inside our spirit man when we were born again. The word dunamis means excellence of soul, which indicates that all Believers have a tank full of soul-healing power inside of them! If you could see dunamis, you would see very bright light! In the book of Mark, Jesus takes three of His disciples up onto the Mount of Transfiguration. As they go, He tells them that they would not taste death until they saw “the kingdom of God come with power.” The word power there is the Greek word dunamis. Jesus was saying that the disciples were literally going to see the power that was living inside of them! What did it look like?

The Bible tells us! When that dunamis power landed on the mountaintop, this is how it appeared: “And His appearance underwent a change in their presence; and His face shone clear and bright like the sun, and His clothing became as white as light” (Matthew 17:2). And again, in verse 5 we read, “While he was still speaking, behold, a shining cloud [composed of light] overshadowed them” (Matthew 17:5).

Wow! Dunamis power is made up of light…the Light of Jesus Christ! Christ lives in you, the hope of Glory! If you could see your Spirit man right now, it would look bright and luminous because it’s filled with His Holy Light! And because dunamis is composed of the Light of Christ, that light acts just like dunamis! It makes you excellent of soul! Jesus’ Light brings life to the dark, wounded areas of our inner man and heals us! One of the things I have learned over all these years of intense soul healing is that the Glory Light of Christ can heal the most horrible diseases that afflict us because many of those sicknesses come from our souls!

A few years back, I was doing a conference in Montana when they brought in a man who had lost his right lung to cancer. He was in such a bad state. He could barely walk into the meeting. His family sat him in the back row because it was the first chair he could manage to get to. During the meeting, I led everyone through prayers that specifically applied the Glory Light of Jesus to their souls. Within 30 minutes, he received a miracle then came up to testify. When he got up on the stage, he said, “Katie, I got me a new lung!” When I asked him what happened, he said, “I lost my lung to cancer, but today God grew it back.” Then I said, “How do you know He did that?” He cracked a huge grin, then said, “Because before, I couldn’t do this…” Then he started bellowing like a bull really loud over and over again! Before I could say anything else, he ran off the stage, and then sprinted around the auditorium three times at high speed, while the crowd screamed and cheered. After the meeting, we ran into him at a coffee shop. He was sitting all the way in the back, and when I walked in, he yelled, “Hey Katie. I still got me my new lung!” Three months later, he emailed me and in all caps said, “HEY KATIE, I STILL GOT ME MY NEW LUNG!”

This testimony is shocking proof of the power of the Glory Light of Jesus. I believe it is entirely possible that man got lung cancer because he had a wound in his soul, but the Glory Light not only made him excellent of soul, it also grew his lung back! The Glory Light is also a powerful tool to heal families and relationships. Look at this testimony we just received from a woman who regularly listens to our teachings on the soul:

“I had not seen my son for over seven years. I knew there was a soul wound involved, possibly from my divorce of 22 years ago. I had asked for his forgiveness many times, as well as prayed, but he would not respond in any way. He would come and visit his siblings, cousins, aunts, and uncles; yet, even though they lived less than five miles from where I lived, he would not come see me. I would hear about their time with him and was so brokenhearted that the years were passing without communication between us. Then one day a friend saw him with my family and called to let me know, not realizing the situation. Again, my heart was broken, but I remembered Katie talking about the ‘Glory Light’ or ‘dunamis’ being released into our soul to heal our wounds. So, I proceeded to be a doer of the Word. As I prayed, I actually felt His Power leave my spirit and heal my soul. It was so awesome…peace, well-being, and contentment just flooded my inner man. All the hurt was instantly washed away! During the same prayer, I also released healing power into my son’s soul. In less than one hour, he called, came to my home, and our reunion, although tear-filled, was a manifestation of God’s love and faithfulness!! We talked, laughed, and enjoyed our ‘catch-up’ time for over two hours.” Wow!! Way to go, Jesus! One of the coolest things about this powerful testimony is that the parent was able to take what she learned about the Glory Light of Jesus and apply it to her son to get a huge miracle!

As you know, God is using the prison outreach of Katie Souza Ministries to bring hope and healing to thousands and thousands of inmates. But the truth is we are just scratching the surface. There are so many prisons and jails that we are not reaching into yet. There are so many who don’t know that they can be set free through the Glory Light of Jesus. How do you pray for people who may be physically, mentally, or emotionally ill because of wounds in their souls? If you really want to see them healed, first commit to praying for them for 15 minutes a day until you see the breakthrough. Then, start by spending part of that time in repentance and forgiveness.

The wounds inside them could have been created by sin committed against them, by them, or by their ancestors. In John 20:23 Jesus said, “if you forgive the sins of anyone, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of anyone, they are retained.” Jesus gave us the right to intercede for people so that their sins can be forgiven.

Interceding for people’s sins must be the first thing we do when praying for the healing of their souls. Some people can’t repent for themselves because their will, their ability to choose to repent, is under the control of the enemy. Let me prove it to you. In 2 Timothy 2:25-26, it says, “Those who oppose him he must gently instruct, in the hope that God will grant them repentance leading them to a knowledge of the truth, and that they will come to their senses and escape from the trap of the devil, who has taken them captive to do his will.”

The will is part of the soul. Some people can’t repent because the wounds in their souls, created by sin, are giving the enemy the legal right to control their will. According to this Scripture, the enemy has now taken them captive to do his will, which is why they can’t and don’t want to repent. We must repent for them, and Jesus has given us the legal right to do it.

Stop getting mad at your rebellious loved ones. They can’t repent because the enemy has taken their will captive. Start repenting for them!

Next, pray for them by releasing the light you have in you towards them to heal their soul. You may think that will never happen because that person will never let you pray for them. Well, because you are filled with the light of Christ, you don’t even have to be in the same room or even the same country as them for this to work.

Did you know that light travels at 186,000 miles per second? When you put your faith into praying for someone, decree that Christ’s light in you is going to their soul to bring them life. His light does just that—no matter where they are or what they are doing!

In Matthew 5:14-15 Jesus says this, “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a peck measure, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all in the house.”
Jesus is the Light of the world, and now because He lives in you, He makes you the world’s light, too! When you begin to pray for your lost, sick, and rebellious loved ones, you are acting like the lamp that gives light to all in the house.

I looked up the word house in Greek. It literally translates into the phrase, THE INMATES OF A HOUSE. An inmate is a person confined to a hospital or a prison. I think this verse compares your loved ones to inmates because the wounds in their souls are imprisoning them. They are sick and need healing in their souls. You are going to be that lamp that shines its bright rays of light out to them so they can become excellent of soul!

As you pray, the beams of light coming off of you will bring healing to all the people in your house—all your family, loved ones, friends, and even strangers.

I think one of the things Jesus loves most is when we have enough faith to heal people long-distance. There was a centurion whose servant boy was sick. By faith he believed that Jesus could heal long-distance. His faith was so high, he insisted Jesus didn’t need to come to his house but rather that Jesus could just speak a word and his servant would be healed. Look at what it says in Matthew 8:10 and 13:

“Jesus responded to his faith by saying, ‘I tell you truly, I have not found so much faith as this with anyone, even in Israel….’ Then to the centurion Jesus said, ‘Go; it shall be done for you as you have believed.’”

Jesus was so impressed with this man’s faith in long-distance healing that He gave the man exactly what he believed for.

Join the group of people that Jesus said this to: “Go; it shall be done for you as you have believed!” Believe for long-distance healing, whether that person is in the next room or the next state! Act like Jesus; just say the word, and that person will be healed.

Here are some great Light Scriptures to decree over your peeps:

Malachi 4:2: “But unto you who revere and worshipfully fear My name shall the Sun of Righteousness arise with healing in His wings and His beams, and you shall go forth and gambol like calves [released] from the stall and leap for joy.”

Luke 11:34: “Your eye is the lamp of your body; when your eye (your conscience) is sound and fulfilling its office, your whole body is full of light.”
John 8:12: “Once more Jesus addressed the crowd. He said, I am the Light of the world. He who follows Me will not be walking in the dark, but will have the Light which is Life.”

Isaiah 60:1-3: “Arise [from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you—rise to a new life]! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you…And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.”

Shine Brightly! Katie
