Tips for an Open Heaven

Lesson 11

Continuing in our discussion of how to get and keep an open Heaven in your home, here are some more helpful tips:

Be consistent in your worship. I learned this lesson the hard way. For a year and a half, I tried cultivating an open Heaven in my house. I had to learn this, as I did not know what I was doing. Yes, it took me that long. However, it’s not going to take you that long because Jesus is moving in an accelerated manner today, and you have this teaching to guide you!

During that year and a half, after faithfully spending time with Christ daily, I would let it go for a week and then it seemed I had to begin over again! When you are consistent, the tangible manifestation of God’s glory comes and you know the Presence is there. When you are inconsistent, you can’t just pick up where you left off. Since I have cultivated that open Heaven in my house, I simply turn on my music and “BAM”, the glory is there. You see, I worship on the road, in hotels, and on the plane. When I have my ear buds in, I am silently singing along with the music or praying in tongues. People may think I’m having an epileptic seizure, but one time I was doing this and a man sitting next to me on a plane broke into a sweat. He was using his napkins to mop himself off. This man was being delivered on the plane! So, be consistent because your open Heaven is not just in your home; you carry it with you wherever you go!

Keep the heavens open! Keep the heavens open by monitoring what you release into your atmosphere! Your TV might be releasing darkness and be careful about your words, as gossiping and complaining will close down the heavens! When you blow it (and we all do), repent very quickly. Repent both to God and to the person you sinned against. Your repentance will keep the heavens open. Then you will be able to ascend. Breakthroughs will come and whatever you were arguing about won’t even matter an hour later!

How to recognize when the heavens are open! If your mind is noisy, you are distracted easily, or if you have confusion while worshiping, the heavens are not open yet. When they open up, the glory of God’s Presence comes along with His peace and stillness. Suddenly, it won’t be hard for you to stay focused. There have been times that, when I was present in the glory, I could keep my mind fixed on Jesus for up to two hours. There is no way I can physically do that. If you are still feeling depression, confusion, or attacks from the demonic, the heavens are not open yet. Press harder. Even if you don’t feel like you are accomplishing anything, God will honor your sacrifice of praise. He will come as your thanksgiving and praise usher you into the gates and courts. Weeping may be a sign that you are getting really close because God’s presence is deeply touching you.

Expect physical manifestations! One such manifestation is feeling a burning and tingling, like glory needles tickling on your skin. At times, I lie down and roll up my sleeve because I may not feel it under my clothing. The glory is falling down from Heaven so expect manifestations that show you it has arrived! When Heaven has opened, you will easily go up!

Wash yourself in the blood of Jesus. Ephesians 2:5-6 (AMPC) states, “Even when we were dead (slain) by [our own] shortcomings and trespasses, He made us alive together in fellowship and in union with Christ; [He gave us the very life of Christ Himself, the same new life with which He quickened Him, for] it is by grace (His favor and mercy which you did not deserve) that you are saved ([delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ’s salvation). And He raised us up together with Him and made us sit down together [giving us joint seating with Him] in the heavenly sphere [by virtue of our being] in Christ Jesus (the Messiah, the Anointed One).”

The blood of Jesus – His sacrifice on the cross enables you to be seated in heavenly realms with Him and gives you the right to go up into the heavens. It cleanses you of anything that would hinder you from going up. Jesus said in Matthew 5:20 (AMPC), “For I tell you unless your righteousness (your uprightness and your right standing with God) is more than that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the Kingdom of Heaven.” In order to have access to the Kingdom of Heaven we need this amazing level of uprightness and right standing with God – more than that of the Pharisees, and they did everything by the book! They even tithed a portion of their spices! This is how we live up to that standard: Jesus Christ. He is our Righteousness!

One last point, if you ever have trouble ascending, you have not washed in the blood of Jesus enough. I forget this at times too!
Next week I will be showing you how powerful speaking in tongues is when you are preparing to ascend…until next time!

Thanks for your words of encouragement. We are writing this from the Kingdom on our 40th wedding anniversary (November 9, 1977) due to the love and grace of God. Ascending is the objective. Staying there is the goal. You two are part of God’s continuing miracle of God’s grace and oneness. Our love is overflowing toward you both. 40 years is a lot of love!
