Supernatural Power

Lesson 16

Last time I told you the amazing testimony of my prayer General, Georgia Marshall’s healing. I talked in depth about how the blood of Jesus Christ is for the sin that caused our souls to be wounded. I stressed that we must have the blood because of its importance – there is no other way for our sins to be forgiven. This week I want to tell you more about the second gift we received from Holy Spirit and that precious gift is power!

This gift of power comes from the resurrection of Jesus Christ and there are many scriptures that connect this power with the resurrection. Paul says in Philippians 3:10 (KJV) “That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection…” That word “power” is the word “Dunamis.” (Strong’s G1411 dynamis) This power, that I call “Dunamis”, comes from Christ’s resurrection. In Romans 1:3-4 (KJV) it says, “Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made the seed of David according to the flesh; and declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead…” and again in 1 Corinthians 6:14 (KJV), ” And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power…” The word “power” in those verses is the Greek word “Dunamis,” and it comes to us through the resurrection of Christ and actually raises us up!

This important power heals both your body and your soul. “Dunamis” means the power to perform a miracle. This supernatural power is able perform a miracle in your physical body. To cure CLL and other forms of cancer, to kill bacteria, to give you regenerated body parts like livers, lungs and hearts. It gives you that power, but what else does that word “Dunamis” mean? It also means this, excellence of soul.

We haven’t been using that power. We go into our prayer closet, and we plead the blood but many of us stop there. We need the blood and cannot do anything without the cross. Jesus paid a penalty for sin, sickness and for wounds in our soul, but that payment would be worthless, it would still be dead in the tomb, unless he was resurrected from the dead. You have to have the resurrection. It stamps and validates what Christ accomplished at the cross. Without the resurrection to verify and put the validity stamp on it, the cross would be null and void. Jesus would still be dead in the tomb and the promises dead with him. We’ve got to have the resurrection and its power, but many of us have not been partakers of the resurrection.

In our prayer closet we pray, “God, please forgive my sins, I forgive anybody who sinned against me and please forgive the sins of my ancestors! I plead the blood right now. I’ve got a sickness in my body, please wash away my sin with your blood, and heal the sickness in my body.” Then we say “Amen,” but we’re still sick. Why? Because that sickness could be coming from a wound on our soul, and it’s Dunamis that comes from the resurrection that gets rid of that wound and makes us excellent of soul.

Go back into your closet and pray this way, “I know the blood has done its work, now I’m going to do the same thing with Dunamis. I’m going to start making that my regular practice every day. I’m going to ask that my soul be filled with Dunamis because that power will make my soul excellent. It is healing my soul of every wound that’s killing me right now!”

If you’re not doing that, that may be why you are still sick, broke, getting divorced, your ministry is breaking up, and your business is failing. You will prosper and be in health even as your soul prospers!

This is Biblical, so begin praying for Dunamis to fill your soul. Paul prayed for it. Ephesians 3:16 (AMPC), “May He grant you out of the rich treasury of His glory to be strengthened and reinforced with mighty power in the inner man by the [Holy] Spirit [Himself indwelling your innermost being and personality]” Paul is praying that we would be strengthened and reinforced by Dunamis power in our souls. He was praying that for us, but we are not praying that for ourselves! We have not tapped into what’s been made available to us through the victory at the resurrection.

This Dunamis power called Lazarus’ spirit back into his body! Remember what Dunamis means. The power to perform a miracle. Lazarus needed a miracle in his physical body! He was four days in the tomb, 60 trillion cells rotting and stinking. So, Jesus released resurrection Dunamis power on him and it called the spirit back and his body got reanimated. His cells came back to life! However, Dunamis also means excellent of soul, so Lazarus was not only raised from the dead but he also got healed of the wounds in his soul that caused him to get sick and die in the first place!

I pray that you will activate into this amazing gift of Dunamis! I know I talk about it a lot, but it is so very important to the body of Christ! I know….I have to be quiet for now…but next week I will be sharing some of the amazing miracles we have seen when people begin to use both the blood and Dunamis power!
