Perhaps you know how King David felt when he wrote these words: “For the enemy has pursued and persecuted my soul, he has crushed my life down to the ground; he has made me to dwell in dark places as those who have long been dead.” (Psalm 143:3)
Satan and his demons are constantly looking for a way to get a foothold in your life. When the devil sees a wounded soul, he is delighted, because he knows he has a legal right to torment you and establish a beachhead for his forces. But the Blood and Dunamis power will enable you to crush the forces of darkness and be declared “off limits” to Satan and his minions.
Here’s proof of what I’m saying. In John 14:30, Jesus says, “I will not talk with you much more, for the prince, (evil genius, ruler of the world is coming. And he has no claim on Me. [He has nothing in common with Me; there is nothing in Me that belongs to him, so he has no power over Me.]”
One of the reasons that Jesus, as a man, had complete dominion over the enemy was that He had nothing in His soul, or spirit, that was in common with the demonic. When Jesus cast out Legion (Mark 5:7) the demon asked Him, “What have You to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? [What is there in common between us?] I solemnly implore You by God, do not begin to torment me!”
Legion recognized there was something different about Jesus. Legion knew that Jesus had nothing in Him that was in common with that foul spirit. That huge demonic spirit could find no common ground in Jesus’ soul that would give him the legal right to torment Jesus. As you get healed in your soul, you will have nothing in common with the enemy, so he will have no power over any part of your life!
