Soak in God’s Word for Soul Healing

Lesson 2

Last week, I explained to you what soaking is and why we need to soak. Now I want to talk to you about how to soak.

There are many ways to soak, but one way is through the Word of God, which is super powerful.

Joshua 1:8 (NKJV) says, “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, for you shall meditate in it day and night that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then, it will make your way prosperous, and then you will have very good success.” As we soak in the Word, as we meditate on and chew on it, it will make our way prosperous, and we will have very good success. We’ll have success in getting healing, financial increase, and in saving our marriages. We’ll also have success in bringing our kids back into the family of God, and off the streets!

Look at Deuteronomy 32:2 (NABRE) “May my teaching soak in like rain, and my utterance drench like dew, like a downpour upon the grass, like a shower upon the crops.” God is telling us that He wants His teachings to soak into us like rain, to drench us like dew, and be such a blessing, that the downpour will come upon us like a downpour on grass, like it comes down on the crops that spurt up and produce a great harvest. The Word is so powerful, it can heal us.

I used to go through all kinds of different problems, physical disorders, diseases, and attitude issues. I could not break free from these assaults on my body or upon my soul, and I would ask, “God, how do I do this?” Well, He led me to the Word. He would show me scriptures concerning every single issue I was dealing with. If I was dealing with bitterness, he would give me bitterness scriptures. If I was dealing with trauma, He would give me trauma scriptures. So, just for myself, I began recording all of the bitterness scriptures on one disc, then I’d put music underneath it, and I would pray along with it. Then, I would put it on repeat and pray along with it. But, I did not turn it into a work. I would play it over myself when I would sleep, and the Word would wash over me all night long. Even while I was sleeping it was working.

Isaiah 45 says the Word has self-fulfilling power. So, my soul and body might be asleep, but my spirit is listening, receiving, and releasing the Word that has the power to save my soul, as it tells us in James 1:21. The Bible says that God sent his Word and healed them, and that the Word does not return void unto Him, but will accomplish that for which it’s been sent. So, as I would meditate and soak in the Word, it would produce miracles.

One time, I was overwhelmed with body pain and flu symptoms, and couldn’t even pray or fast. I could do nothing but just listen to one of those discs that I had made. The Lord told me, “Listen to the scriptures you have on Malachi 4.” It talks about the Son of righteousness will arise with healing in his wings and his beams. I was exhausted, so I just put that disc on repeat, and listened to it over and over again until I fell asleep. Then, I had a vision that I was being attacked by demonic forces that were all around me. I knew they were causing my sickness. Suddenly, I saw huge balls of fire flying down from heaven and knocking them all out.

I thought, “Wow, this is cool, why aren’t I getting hit by these balls of fire?” I looked up, and Jesus was over me. He was fulfilling Malachi 4 in my life. The Son of righteousness will arise over you with healing in his wings and his beams! He was standing over me with the wings of his prayer shawl spread out to protect me from the fireballs from heaven, while he was killing off all the demons that were causing my sickness. When I awoke, I was healed!

When I shared those discs with my friends, they would get healed, or get a miracle. You need to soak in the Word, amen?
