Provision and Protection of God

Lesson 3

I originally thought I could get these lessons done in eight weeks, but that isn’t going to happen! I have a lot to tell you about the amazing, superhero tool called ascending! So, if you don’t mind, I will just keep going as long as it takes to impart to you everything I have learned.

In Exodus 24:9 Moses and Aaron, and seventy-two elders went up on Mount Horeb and saw God! Under His feet was a pavement of bright sapphire, clear as the sky itself. They were just men, but they went up into the heavenly realms. Notice that they ate and drank. So, they went up into heaven in more than just their spirits, their bodies also went up! This may be difficult for us to comprehend. However, the scriptures substantiate that it is possible; that we could actually go up in our physical bodies too! The apostle Paul says in 2 Corinthians12:1-4 (AMPC) “True there is nothing to be gained by it, but as I am obliged to boast I will go into visions and revelations of the Lord. I know a man in Christ who fourteen years ago-whether in the body or out of the body I do not know, God knows-was caught up to the third heaven. And I know that this man-whether in the body or away from the body I do not know, God knows-was caught up into paradise, and he heard utterances beyond the power of man to put into words, which man is not permitted to utter.” Paul says twice, “whether in the body or out of the body I do not know,” We need to think about it when scripture is repeated! According to Paul, human beings can ascend into the heavenly realms both in their spirit and in their physical bodies.

As promised, here is a fun story that shows the provision and protection of God over my life. We live in Arizona in the middle of the desert and we have a lot of dust storms. There is nothing to block them, so the air is filled with dirt and sand and gives me a terrible sinus headache. We were at home and there was a cool breeze, so we opened up all the windows and then decided to take a nap. I prayed, “Lord, take me up to heaven and show me what You have for me right now.” I began to ascend and I had the weirdest vision. I saw a side profile of my face with a big ball of nose hair hanging out my nose! I asked, “WHAT IS THAT, GOD?” Then I went into a deep sleep and away I went. A couple of hours later, I woke up to curtains flapping furiously! When I opened my eyes the whole room was foggy, and I thought, “I’m still in heaven because the glory cloud is in the room.” I reached my arm up to turn on the light and dirt fell off my arm onto the sheets. A dust storm had kicked up while we were asleep and everything in the entire house was covered with a layer of dirt. The air I thought was the glory cloud was a cloud of dust! Robert and I ran around closing all the windows but it was too late.

For about three hours we wiped and vacuumed like crazy! I finally caught my breath and realized that the entire time I had been breathing in dirt but I didn’t have the stabbing sinus pain that I usually would have. Then God brought back to my remembrance the vision I saw when I was going up – of this big ball of nose hair hanging out of my nose! The function of nose hair is to protect your sinuses and respiratory system from foreign particles. I said, “That is so cool, God. You totally protected me from breathing in this dirt!” As a kid I was always digging in the dirt, racing horses, and fishing and when I’d come home, I’d blow my nose and all this dirt would come out. So, I ran into my bathroom to blow my nose and there was not one speck of dust in that tissue. I almost saved it. I’m serious, it was that cool. It was evidence! I should have taken a picture – put the date, and written, “There was a dust storm today!”

Paul said, “Whether in the body or out of the body I do not know.” Honestly, I do not know if God somehow put an invisible wall around us that we couldn’t see, or if He took us up into heaven in the body! God cares about us, He cared about me having a sinus headache. One of the ways we can have that kind of protection is by being able to ascend into the heavens.

Men ascended into heaven, but they didn’t do it for a thrill ride. Don’t get me wrong I love just checking heaven out. But more importantly, I love going up to get protection from a dust storm, to get wisdom, revelation, healing, and problem-solving information. When men in the Bible went up they always had an encounter with God. When Moses, Aaron and the 72 elders went up, they encountered their Lord who was giving them the Commandments. They got to experience the One, the power behind their emancipation. They got to eat and drink with God!

When John the Revelator went up, he got the information for the letters to the seven churches. Millions of people have read Revelations and have been completely transformed and blessed. We need to look at ascending as a powerful tool to help bring the kingdom of heaven down here to earth.
