Lesson 16

Some of the key strategies of the Lord that I use to get healed of the spirit of legion are the blood of Jesus and dunamis power. I also use communion to get healed, in my inner man, of all the wounds that the storm has put upon me.

Paul in the shipwreck is a great example of somebody being healed, of the effects of a storm, by taking communion.

Let’s look at 1 Corinthians 11:25 (KJV). Paul tells us what the Lord did at the Last Supper, “After the same manner also He (Jesus), took the cup, when he had supped, saying, ‘this cup is the new testament in my blood: this do ye, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.'” The Greek word “drink” means: “To receive into the soul what serves to refresh, strengthen, and nourish it unto eternal life” Wow!

Jesus was telling us, “My blood and my body heals, nourishes, refreshes, and strengthens our souls – our souls that need all the help they can get, especially when we’re right in the middle of a storm! One of the most important things we can do in the midst of the storm, is to take communion every single day, knowing that the act of taking communion is putting us in remembrance of Jesus, and what he accomplished on the cross, which includes healing for our souls!

In Acts 27 (NKJV), Paul was being taken to Rome on a ship to stand before Caesar, and the storms that beset the ship were so bad that it was actually sinking. In the middle of the storm, (referring to communion in verses 33 – 36), “And as day was about to dawn, Paul implored them all to take food saying, “’Today is the fourteenth day you have waited and continued without food, and eating nothing. Therefore I urge you to take nourishment, for this is for your survival, since not a hair will fall from the head of any of you.’ And when he had said these things, he took bread and gave thanks to God in the presence of them all; and when he had broken it he began to eat. Then they were all encouraged, and also took food themselves.”

After Paul told them they needed nourishment (or meat in some versions), it says “That Paul took bread and gave thanks to God in the presence of them all. And when he had broken it he began to eat.” Now the word bread here is different from the Greek word for meat. In the Strong’s Concordance it means this, “The bread used at the Lord’s table.” Do you see that? It’s the same word used for the bread that Jesus served to his disciples at the Last Supper. “Paul gave thanks and broke the bread.” That’s exactly how Jesus served the Last Supper. He gave thanks, then broke the bread. The Greek word “broke” denotes “the breaking of bread for communion.” Wow!

In the middle of this life and death situation, Paul is reaching for a miracle. He’s taking communion. He’s eating the broken body of Jesus Christ. Remember that the word “drink” there means to nourish, strengthen, and refresh the soul. So, as Paul is taking this communion, he’s nourishing his soul, strengthening his soul, refreshing his soul, and getting healed of all the trauma and wounds that have been put on his soul from this storm.
This is an incredibly powerful revelation! In the middle of a storm when we’re absolutely at the end of our rope. Our boat has been tossed to and fro, the boat is filling with water, and it’s sinking, we need to be taking communion. Set yourself aside like Paul did. The winds were howling around him, they had few provisions, hadn’t eaten in 14 days, and had lost all of their other possessions when they were thrown overboard to lighten the ship. But, Paul understood the power of communion to heal the effects of the storm.

When Paul got to the island of Malta, he was not able to be attacked by a deadly poisonous snake because he had nothing in him that was in common with that snake. I believe that taking communion in the middle of the storm healed him, so that when he was bitten, he had total dominion over that snake. Then, Paul went on to pray for everybody on that island, and they all got healed! Paul didn’t let the storm stop him. He got to the island and accomplished much for the kingdom. That’s what happens when you make it through the storm healed and unwounded, because of taking communion in the middle of your storm!

Next time, I want you to take communion as I activate with you into this important revelation. So, make sure you have your communion supplies handy! I use a big hunk of bread, some crackers, and some grape juice. Can’t wait!

Thank you Katy. Communion is such a blessing. It keeps us focused on what our Lord went through for our salvation and healing. For so long I believed you had to go to a church building to take communion. I was wrong. My body is the temple of God.
