Bloodlines

Lesson 6

Joshua 3:6 (AMPC), “Joshua said to the priests, take up the Ark of the Covenant and pass over before the people. And they took it up and went on before the people.” Where have we seen the words Pass Over before? When God makes a point, He really likes to drive it home! Last week we jumped into the full meaning of The Ark of the Covenant, and exposed the truth within. It’s Jesus! God uses the Blood of The Lamb to pass over them in Egypt, and now God is going to send Jesus to Pass Over before them again! Just like before, His blood is the covering that shields them from judgment. Now His blood is going to do one more thing; heal their souls from all the trauma and generational sin.

Jesus literally crossed before them, and I believe he was wiping out every sin that was against them and every wound inside them. They needed their souls healed and as Christ went before them, God was going to do it. He said He was going to do wonders among them. Christ, his blood and his resurrection power went before them and it cleansed them of every wound they had in their souls from every sin and trauma they and their ancestors had ever gone through.

Take a look at the meaning of “Pass Over,” it means “to perish, to cease to exist, to become invalid, obsolete (of the law or decree), and to cause to take away” (Dictionary.com). Well that is interesting! God would Pass-Over them one more time; He was making the law invalid and obsolete. Like He did at the cross.

The bible says that it is impossible to keep the law. So every one of those people who crossed over that day had charges against them. Sin, upon sin, upon sin. The charges against them were immeasurable. The sins of iniquity, generational sin all the way back to Adam, were so immense no one could have ever listed them all, or been free from the law without help from God.

This is so huge. We don’t realize what is going on here. A complete paradigm shift. A total change. A total transformation. A total healing. The power that was released that day was so effective they took the Promised Land just as God had said they would. They mowed down the enemy and nothing could stop them, except when sin came into the camp. There was so much power there because it was Christ; his work on the cross and the resurrection.

In fact there was going to be so much power available to perform this wonder in their souls that Joshua warned the people, “… there shall be a space between you and it (the Ark), about two thousand cubits by measure. Do not come near it that you may know the way by which you must go, for you have not passed this way before.” 2000 cubits is 3000 feet. That is equal to ten football fields! There was so much power, it cut of the flow of the Jordon and caused the water to pile up and sent it back in one heap all the way to a far of city named Adam.

We all began at Adam and without Christ we end up at the Dead Sea. But when Christ passes on before us, our bloodline doesn’t end at the Dead Sea it ends in eternal life. That day when the ark, passed on before the people, two things happened to the flow of the river.

“Then the waters which came down from above stood and rose up in a heap far off, at Adam, the city that is beside Zarethan; and those flowing down toward the Sea of the Arabah, the Salt [Dead] Sea, were wholly cut off.” Joshua 3:16 (AMPC)

The waters backed up to Adam and completely stopped flowing down to the Dead Sea. The Jordon prophetically represents all the Israelite bloodlines, all of our bloodlines. It means when Christ passes over before us, He not only makes obsolete and invalid all the charges against us, but he gathers them up in one big heap all the way back to the Adam and wipes them out! He fully cuts off the flow of our bloodline ending up in the Dead Sea because now we have eternal life! Love, K.S.
